St Werburghs City Farm
Livestock Farm and Training
The animals are at the heart of the farm and bring delight to visitors, other service users and passers by. They include goats, sheep, pigs, hens, ducks and rabbits. We try to provide them with the best quality of life we can, given our limited space.
The animals enable us to teach humane methods of animal husbandry; respect for other life forms and how some of our food is produced.
Specific farm-based services include:
- animal husbandry training for adults with special needs;
- work experience for school children;
- opportunities for volunteers;
- guided tours and/or activity visits for schools and other groups;
- egg and incubator hire - see chicks hatch at school!;
- animal husbandry training for college students;
- company challenges and team building days;
- sale of our eggs, meat, compost, etc.
We may be able to tailor some of these services to your specific needs, and please note that we do charge for some of them.
